Larry has been asked many questions while doing his training runs...... and would like to answer some of them here....
"Why??" I've been asked this many times. While I am aware that most lighthouses are content to sit on a hill and light the way for incoming ships I dreamed of bringing light to people in a new kind of way. And one day I took to running down the street.... and I discovered that not only was I able to run..... but that my presence could enlighten and entertain!
"Are you heavy?" I am amazed at how many people wonder about my weight and size. While I think I am pretty light..(especially for a Lighthouse).... I do not truly know my exact weight. I'll let you know after my next check-up.
"Are you really the NJ Marathon Mascot?" Yes, it is official. I have been declared the Official Mascot of the NJ Marathon and am very proud of it. I ran the NJ Marathon on April 30, 2006. Click here for the full report.
"Have you taken your medication?" Lighthouses have no need for medication.... but I appreciate people inquiring how I am doing.
"Are you a real working lighthouse?" Yes I am! At night I have a light that can be seen for a couple of blocks.
"Do you have a building permit?" No, I don't. And that's one of the reasons I have to keep moving.
