Two weeks after the NYC Marathon..... Larry ran the Philly Marathon with Wendy the WindMill!! Unbelievable as it sounds, but this was Wendy's marathon debut and she was all powered up and pulled Larry to a strong finish of 6:16:59!
Very soon after NYC..... Larry had to gear up for Philly. Larry was a bit apprehensive but found a lot of comfort when he found out Wendy would come too. Wendy is an incredible runner..... very strong...so positive.... and such an inspiration. ...how can I not keep pace with her? Larry met Wendy at the Expo. Across a crowded room Larry was beaming when his beacon spotted her! Now I won't be the only edifice running in a marathon. I am so glad Wendy is here too!
At the start.... so many runners remembered Larry from other races. And with Wendy right by his side it was a sight to be seen. The news crew had spotted Larry from their helicopter and were hovering above. And he was even announced on live television!
It seemed like Wendy was pulling Larry through the miles. Larry was amazed that Wendy had the energy to dance and be-bop to the music playing along the course! Wendy makes it look easy!
At the second half as Larry passed by the finish line..... he saw all the fast runners coming into the finish chute. Everyone was cheering on the finishers....... but a lot of them turned around to see Larry and Wendy pass by and also to get a quick picture! By mile 22 Larry was running on empty..... Wendy was getting pretty hard to keep up with. Wendy gave Larry a quick pep talk and Larry gave it everything he had left. Larry finished with Wendy Windmill in 6:16:59! And now Larry is currently recovering.
